Russia is burning

Publication time: 30 July 2010, 10:23

Voronezh is burning in great fire. Heat in Moscow has once again broken records.

Russia is burning in fires due to an unprecedented hellish heat. Emergency situation was proclaimed in Voronezh in southern Russia on the border with Ukraine on July 29 due to the forest fires. Huge numbers of hotbeds of fire are registered. Mass evacuation of residents is being conducted.

Traffic has been completely blocked on the highway "Don" in the Voronezh district. Several city districts and suburban holiday villages were burnt down. The whole town is clouded in acrid smoke. Residents of many neighborhoods are already left without electricity. Thousands and thousands of residents of Voronezh are fleeing the city.

A correspondent of the Moscow newspaper KP reports:

"Giant fire is approaching the center of Voronezh. The fire reached the outskirts of Voronezh on July 29 at 10 am. Gradually it spread to townships located already inside city boundaries. Some hotbeds are burning in city district of Voronezh. Everything is burning. The city is in a ring of fire".

"Strong wind helps fire to spread", The Russian Regnum agency explains.

A correspondent of the Moscow newspaper Novyye Izvestiye reports:

"Residents of Voronezh and its outskirts woke up this morning from the acrid smell of smoke. The city is gradually encircled in a ring of forest fires: settlements, children's camps, tourist camps are burning. However, the evacuation of the population from the city is hampered by the fact that a part of the federal highway "Don" is blocked for security reasons (the woods near the road are in flames). Residents of the city trying to escape from the fire, stood in interminable traffic jams.

A state of emergency has been declared in the Voronezh region. Voronezh residents were asked not to leave their homes and not to use personal vehicles to flee, media outlets report. The government for some reason prefers to have residents of Voronezh burnt alive.

The fire has already burnt down the Voronezh neighborhood of Maslivka and city quarters in the Kozheven Kordon district and the Zemlyachky street. Thousands of residents have left their burnt and not yet burnt houses. The fire continues to spread rapidly".

Exactly the same picture as in Voronezh is observed now in many other large, medium and small cities in central and southern Russia. A huge number of villages and rural areas were already destroyed by fire.

Record levels of air temperature were recorded meanwhile in Moscow and Nienschanz (AKA St. Petersburg) on Thursday, July 29. A temperature 35.2 degrees was recorded in the capital of the Russian Empire at 13:00, which is one degree above the previous maximum registered on July 29, 1920.

Previous records were registered on July 10 and July 12. For the last eight day,s the temperature in Moscow has been abnormally high. The absolute record of temperature in this city of 37.5 degrees centigrade was recorded three days ago. Forecasters suggest that it will be beaten in the near future.

In Nienschanz, an air temperature record of 35.3 degrees was registered on Thursday. The previous temperature record was registered on June 15, 1998 and it was 34.6 degrees.

Crops were destroyed by hellish heat in central Russia. A very hungry winter is expected for the Russians.

Natural fires are raging on the territories of Vladimir, Ivanovo, Penza, Tver, Rostov Regions, and in Udmurtia, Mordovia ant the internal Republic of Komi. According to a Moscow paper, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, over thousand fires broke out in the Nizhny Novgorod region during the abnormal heatwave. The area of fire spreading there covers almost 50 thousand hectares, hundreds of Russian homes were burnt.

Dozens of houses were burnt in Moscow Region yesterday evening in Kolomna, Lukhovitsy and Krasnogorsk districts.

Huge fires destroyed houses in the village of Mokhovoye, Lukhovitsy district, and in the village of Kadanok of the same district.

A settlement Negomosh in Kolomna district of Moscow region was also affected from the fire.

Houses are burning in the settlements of Gorodets, Kolomna district, and in Opalykha, Krasnogorsk district. Hundreds of homes were burned, hundreds of people fled or were evacuated.

Meanwhile, Russian Christians started increasingly speaking about God's punishment for Russia's crimes. Christian processions to plead God to stop the fires are held in some Russian cities and towns.
